    Karin Mills says:
We have been St. Paul's members with Elkie since we moved to Wilmington in 1992. She always greeted us warmly and with great interest in our family and children. We live on North 15th Street and Elkie told us she grew up on that street and on Friday nights they would put up road blocks so they could have a block party where all the kids could roller skate all up and down North 15th Street. She was a delightful woman that will always be remembered so fondly by our family.

    Henry Rehder, Shallotte NC says:
Elkie was a big part of our growing up, especially at Saint Paul's, always with a smile, taking time to talk with genuine interest. So many good memories of Elkie and George, a different time and place that were better because of them. God bless you Ken, Bobby and your families.

Years ago Mrs. Fick substituted at Roland Grise and she became a favorite of everyone. She was always bubbly and fun to be around. Later on my husband became friends with George at work. This dear couple were special to both of us. We have such good memories of them both.

Elkie was a wonderful person. We went to St. Paul's church with her. She was always smiling and kind, as was her husband George. Heaven has some wonderful angels in these two people. Condolences to the family.
