Eleanor Florence Dyke

Eleanor Florence Dyke “Grandma Ellie”, 97 of Wilmington, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord at 10:58 a.m. Wednesday (December 1, 2010) at Universal Healthcare/Brunswick.

A native of Warren County, Pennsylvania, she was born on March 14, 1913, daughter of late Sidney and Edna Julia Fitzgerald.

She was a loving wife of Ralph H. Dyke, and mother to Judith E.
Constantino and Diana L. Brennan. She was loved and cherished by her
7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She will be remembered most for her love of children, baking and cooking, rose gardening, knitting, and driving where ever she could see something wonderful.

She took much pride in feeding her grandchildren as much candy as they desired, eating chocolate, ice-cream sundays and having a nice cup of tea.

She made her home with her daughter Judy and son-in-law Michael, here in Wilmington over the past 13 years.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday in Wilmington, at the Wilmington Burial and Cremation Service. The Pastor Steve Jessen, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memory Care Unit at Universal Healthcare/Brunswick. Here she was loved and cared for during the last 6 months of her life and known by all as “Grandma”.

Mike and Judy, We are truly sorry for your loss of "Grandma". Julie and I did so enjoy singing for her at church and her birthday. Thank you for including us in your family times. Sorry I couldn't be there today for you (had to work) but I will be there in prayer and of course my beautiful wife will sing her heart out for you all! Love, Kevin and Julie Foss
