Elizabeth “Betty” DeWalt Gross,95, Born April 7, 1927 to Elizabeth Barndt DeWalt and Earl William DeWalt in Allentown, PA, Betty  passed peacefully September 30, 2022 at 3:45 p.m. Her parents, three sisters and two brothers preceded in her in death. Her husband of sixty-one years, Harold, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Anne Supsic (Frank) of Pennsylvania, Nancy Gross (Partner Amber Whittington) of Wilmington, NC, and Kate Fuss (Bill) of Florida. One son, Tom (Lori) of Colorado. Her dearly loved grandchildren, Ben Corbin, Britt (Dan) Olsen, Hayden and Grant Fuss, Taylor Gross and Kelsey (Jordan) Craig. And her precious first great-granddaughter Sage Elizabeth Olson, born in August.

 

She graduated from Allentown High School and became secretary and office manager of a branch office of Remington Rand Inc. She devoted her life to her family, her church, Trinity Lutheran, and her community. In midlife, she returned to the work force, first as bookkeeper in her husband’s Real Estate firm and later secretary to the president of Fabric Development Inc. In 1996, she and her husband moved to Olde Point in Hampstead, NC where she enjoyed tennis, bridge, and many new friends. In 2006, they moved to Plantation Village where she took part in residents’ activities and enjoyed her lovely new home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on October 15th at 11:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Reconciliation, 7500 Market Street in Wilmington.
