Memorial Gifts & Donations

Elizabeth (Betty) Rose (Scherer) Rauth, 79, of Wilmington, NC, peacefully passed away on October 2, 2023 in Wilmington, NC.

Betty was born on November 8, 1943 in Trenton, NJ, where she spent the next 45 years meeting the man she would marry and love more than anything in this world and raise two children that adored her, as well as make numerous friendships that would last a lifetime.

While Betty loved her husband above all, a close second would be her Mahjong Group, Book Club, children, many friends and her cats. When Betty reflected back on her life, she recalled beautiful memories of camping vacations and cruises with family and friends, holiday dinners that included neighbors without family or somewhere to go, pool parties and sitting on the front porch with her husband watching cars go by.

While Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Joseph Rauth II, parents (Nicholas and Theresa Scherer), brother (Nick Scherer) as well as his wife and daughter, she is survived by her son, Fritz Rauth III of Wilmington and daughter, Kim Wright and her husband Frank of Raleigh as well her two kitties – Gabby and Callie.

While Betty will be dearly missed, her family can only think of how happy she must be once more, free of pain and together again with her husband.

“In heaven, we will be forever reunited, never to be separated again”.
