Elizabeth L. Simpkins, age 92 of Wilmington, NC, passed away at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare on March 23, 2023.

Elizabeth was born in Milford, CT on December 15, 1930 to the late William and Emma Lurix.

She was a 1952 graduate of UConn and had a stint as an Officer in the USMC, followed by a 31-year career in the Federal Government. She was also involved in Project Management with Kings Bay Submarine Base in St. Mary’s, GA. In her last years, Elizabeth was a resident of Brightmore Commons in Wilmington and held close friendships with other residents, as well as the staff, there. She will be greatly missed by all those she has met during her travels in life.

Elizabeth is survived by her nephew David Lurix (Sheila), along with many other extended family members and friends who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth is predeceased by her longtime partner Clinton T. Robie, brother Walter Lurix, sister Harriet Schwable, and nephews Richard and Wayne Lurix.

There are no services planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth’s family has requested donations be made in her honor to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Services of Wilmington.
