Elizabeth Schroeder Militscher, 84, of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

She was born in Mt. Vernon, NY, on January 8, 1928. Her parents were Bruno Albert Schroeder and Edna Hamlin Schroeder.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Howard Benjamin Militscher; seven children: Frank Militscher, Joanne Vlasits, Christopher Militscher, Margaret Neumann, Julie Porowski, Stephen Militscher, and Barbara Perino; nine grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren; and brother Frank Schroeder. Remembered is her son, Michael John Militscher, who preceded her in death.

A memorial mass will be celebrated 10 am Friday, March 2, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 5th and Ann Streets, Wilmington. Her urn will be placed at Long Island National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Church Social Ministry.

    I am so sorry for you loss. My condolences. There are so many things running through my head right now about all the things Mrs. Militscher had done for me over the many years that I've known the family. She will always be in our hearts. She was a very compassionate person. Loving and witty. She will be missed by all. Remember all the good times that you shared with her.

    My condolences for Howard and his family. Liz was a beautiful lady inside and out. She and I had many a good times together at our Catholic Daughter meetings over the years. We know her soul is in heaven already. She will be missed by many.
