Ellen Jean Collins

Jean Dobson Collins, 78 of Wilmington, NC passed away on May 28, 2022. She was born in Wilmington on August 1, 1943 to Elwood Caviness Dobson and Mattie Barret Dobson who preceded her in death. 

She had a love for travel and adventure. She spent many years exploring that passion from the east coast to the west coast and beyond. Her life long career in the hospitality beverage industry allowed her to meet many friends and sustain that passion. Her love for her family is paramount.

Jean is survived by her daughter Heather Collins White, grandchildren  Collins Davis White and Stephen Carter Herring White, her brother Elwood Caviness Dobson and Wife Nancy, nieces and nephews Sara Dobson Clewis and husband Wesley, Alexis Dobson Straub, “Joey” Elwood Dobson and wife Crystal, and their many children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Wilmington Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2pm – 4pm following the service.
