Elsie Marston Mullinix of Wilmington, NC died Saturday, November 15th at home.

She taught English for many years at New Hanover High School.
She loved hearing from her students who chose writing as their career and others who were touched by her teaching skills and sweet smile. One of her greatest pleasures was hearing the arrival of her great grandson William L. Mullinix, III born October 16, 2008 and special times spent with Tucker Jane Mullinix, her great granddaughter.

She was mother to William (Bill) L. Mullinix, deceased. Surviving are daughters Carol M. Mullinix of Wilmington, NC,; Nancy M. Smits, Clemmons, NC; and Sandra M. Parrott, Morganton, GA,; her nephew Dr. E. Marston Rascue (Anita), Atlanta, GA, cousin Richard H. Marston (Joan), Wilmington, NC. Beloved grandchildren Will Mullinix (Emily), Charlotte, NC, Evan Mullinix (Erin), Cary, NC, Angie Smits-Clegg (Russ), Greensboro, NC, Susan Smits, New Orleans, LA, Todd Parrott (Cindy), Duluth, GA and Jennifer Immel (Bill), Savannah, GA.

A family celebration of Elsie’s life will be held at a later date in Charlotte, NC.
