Elwood Clifton Dixon, Jr., 76, known to family and friends as “Dick”, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023, in Wilmington, North Carolina.

He was born on November 16, 1946, in Pensacola, Florida, to the late Elwood Clifton Dixon, Sr. and Julia Mae Strickland Dixon.

Dick worked as a devoted manager for 35 years, managing others at Herca-Fina Chemical Plant. He proudly served our Country serving in the United States Navy.

In his free time, he loved fishing and spending time with his brothers riding their Harleys. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and hard work ethic.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Mitchell, sons Cory A. Dixon, Philp P. Dixon, and Brian L. Costin, two brothers Thomas L. Dixon and Larry P. Dixon, and five grandchildren, Caleb, Tyler, Alex, Bradley, and Connor.

A service for Dick will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Lower Cape Hospice and Life Care Center, 1414 Physician’s Drive Wilmington, NC 28401.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to all the staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center for all the love and care they showed to Mr. Dixon and family during his time of illness.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Rest in Peace.
