Era Vivian Spaugh, 86, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Davis Health Care Center.
Mrs. Spaugh was born in Cherokee County, SC, to the late John and Bessie Wilkins. She was the widow of Virgil Spaugh who she was married to for forty years. She was also a member of Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church and was a retired first grade teacher. Mrs. Spaugh loved attending church, outings with her friends, and her vegetable and flower gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Rice and her husband North Rice, of Wilmington, NC, and brother Pete Wilkins of Spartenburg, SC.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Wilkins and Wilbur Wilkins; and three sisters, Alyce Hodge, Maude Cook, and Nan Mathis.
A memorial service will be held at Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church, Friday, March 1, at 10 AM, with Pastor Keith Louthan.
