Eric Vernon Rice, 50, of Cornelius, passed away March 8, 2023 at Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born on July 29, 1972 to Douglas Rice and Christel Ziesing.
Mr. Rice is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Rice.
He is survived by his mother, Christel Ziesing; wife of 23 years, Dori Cahill Rice; daughters, Chloe Rice and Anna Rice; sister; Michele (James) Graninger; father-in-law, Dan Cahill; and mother-in-law, Beth Cahill.
Eric was a wonderful, loving, generous father and husband. There was nothing more important to him than his family. After he served in the United States Army as an army ranger, he became an incredibly creative chef and chocolatier. He never backed away from a challenge, and loved figuring out the process involved in his interests. He made sure he was proficient at every aspect of any of his passions. We will miss his crazy sense of humor, and his larger-than-life personality. He was beloved by all who had the honor of knowing him and will be dearly missed.
