Eva Justice Sikes, age 93 of Leland passed away, Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.

Eva was born April 8, 1920 in Pender County. She graduated Valedictorian of the 1938 class at Long Creek Grady High School.
In 1946 she dedicated herself to Jehovah God. Living as a faithful Christian Witness, she adhered to Bible principles and was a member of the Leland Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Her family was of upmost importance as demonstrated by her love and compassion in caring for her sister, Ola Bell for over 38 years. When difficult circumstances arose other family members benefited warmly from her nurturing and nursing nature. Being a grandmother brought her joy as she enriched the lives of Opal and Jason. The addition of her great grandson, Xander Wade was especially pleasing to her.

Surviving family is her son, Albert E. Sikes and grandson Leslie Jason Sikes both of Wilmington; her daughter-in-law Jewell Wynne Sikes of Wilmington; granddaughter, Opal Sikes-Satrapa (Vance), and great grandson, Xander Wade Satrapa all of Raleigh, NC. Brothers, Raymond A. and Bennie P. Justice of Wilmington, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the gravesite in Greenlawn Memorial Park conducted by Joe George.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hermitage House in Castle Hayne and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their loving care, gentle support and comfort for their mother during her illness.

    Ana says:
I am so sorry for your loss. The Bible provides comfort during these difficult times. Revelation 21:3,4 states “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. Very soon now, we will never experience losing our loved ones in death. Hope these words give you a new hope.
