Everett Troy Hamilton, Jr., 65, of Kure Beach, NC, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born on September 13, 1947 the son of the late Everett Troy Hamilton, Sr. and Dorothy Trimm Hamilton. He was preceded in death by a son, Everett Troy Hamilton, III and also a sister, Piper Sue Hamilton.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He also served in various law enforcement agencies and was former Chief of Police in Kure Beach.

Surviving his one son, William David Hamilton of Kure Beach, NC; two daughters, Kimberly Sue Hamilton of Leland, NC and Piper-Lynn Marie Hamilton of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Aleigha and Anthony Hamilton; two sisters, Margaret Lisa Baldwin and husband, Douglas Scott of Enterprise, AL and Robin Denice Simmons and husband, Ronald Dwight of Ozark, AL.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Coastal Community Church, 407 N. 8th St., Carolina Beach, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Joey Canady and Rev. Aaron King.

Special thanks to the Kure Beach Police Department and local residents for care and concern during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
