Fannie Lorie O’Connell age 66 passed away Monday, March 29,2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

She was born in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of Ray Lewis Stanley.

Lorie moved to Wilmington in 1961 and attended New Hanover High School. She was a Legal Secretary for most of her career and also worked as an administrative assistant in a local high school.

She is the wife of William O’Connell of Wilmington.

There will be a memorial a service at a later date.

    We had the joy of getting to know Miss Lorie as we worked for her last season, mowing her yard. She was so kind and caring and very appreciative of our work. She always thanked our sons, telling them what a great job they had done. She was such a warm and welcoming lady. We will miss her.
