Faye H. Singletary age 81 of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Faye was born in Robeson County, NC on January 24, 1941, to Charles Franklin Hammond and Ruth Phelps Hammond.

Faye was a member of Pine Valley Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School Class. She was a member of Goldenrod Chapter 142 Order of Eastern Star where she served as the Worthy Matron and served as Grand Adah for the Grand Chapter OES of North Carolina, as a member of the Chesser-Jackson Grand Family. Faye was retired from Cooperative Bank as a Mortgage Loan Officer and had worked for several banks and law offices in Wilmington during her career. Faye served as a former member of the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association Board of Directors. She was honored to be selected as the Legal Secretary of the Year for the State of North Carolina.

Faye was a dedicated and devoted military wife as her husband served in the US Air Force for 23 years, stationed at numerous military installations in the United States.

Faye was a devoted wife, mother and the perfect grandmother and a dear friend to many.

Faye is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, Harold Singletary; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Dwight Waser; and special granddaughter, Elizabeth Singletary Waser; sister, Esther Storms; special niece Gail Inge. Remembered are her daughter, Elizabeth Faye Singletary, and a sister Eva Ingram who preceded her in death.

Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10 am Friday, March 11, 2022, followed by her Funeral Service to begin at 11 am at Pine Valley Baptist Church led by Rev. Brian Blackwell. Her burial will be at  the Singletary Family Cemetery in Butters, NC.
