Florence Evelyn Gore died January 27, 2011, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center, Wilmington, NC.

She was born on January 2, 1938, the daughter of the late William and Greta (Mintz) Scoggins.

Mrs. Gore was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She enjoyed coaching girls softball for the Leland Parks and Recreation and loved to fish.

Surviving besides her husband, James Gore, are: three children, William Gore and wife Barbara of Leland, NC, Michael Gore of Leland, NC, and Edward Gore and wife Tammy of Leland, NC, a brother, Richard Scoggins and wife Shirlene of Leland, NC, three sisters, Joanne Santos and husband Danny of Leland, NC, Peggy Limos of Leland, NC, and Nancy Gomez of Leland, NC, six grandchildren, Ann, James, Johnathan, Diane, E.C., and Tiffany, and two great grandchildren, Lexie and Kayden.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 1874 Maco Road NE, Leland, NC, by the Rev. John Bracey and Rev. Judy Billings. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
