Floyd (Bud) N. Young, Jr., 77, of Rocky Point died Saturday at his residence with his family at his side.
He was born on January 18, 1930 in Davie County North Carolina. He was the son of the late Floyd N. and Mary Horn Young, Sr. He served 7 ½ years in the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He retired from the Security Division, Military Ocean Terminal at Sunny Point. After retiring he worked as a teacher’s assistant and drove a school bus for New Hanover County Schools.
He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Young. Surviving are his sons Allen Young and wife Gwen of Wilmington, NC, Brian Young of Louisburg, NC, Marty Young of Butner, NC, a brother C. C. Young of Jasper, GA, and his sister Geraldine Nobles of Carolina Beach, NC, three grandchildren; Al Young, Brandon Young, and Kristen Young of Wilmington.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at College Acres Baptist Church in Wilmington where a service will be held at 11:00AM with Justin Kornegay officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead.
