Floyd Ray Mansfield, 74 of Oak Island, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann Mansfield, as well as children James, Sandy, Perry (Darlene) Mansfield and Sheila (Donald) Bell-Morgan and grandchildren Jamie Bell and Jimmy, Sidney, Matt, Brandon and Drew Mansfield, brother Julian Mansfield.

Memorial service will be at Oak Island Presbyterian Church 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 30, 2010 with Reverend Michael Ward officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Oak Island Presbyterian Church or American Heart Association.

    Ann, Matt and Jimmie, Ray will be missed by all. I want to share my last meeting with him. I was leaving work and he had driven his golf cart to the DQ. There he sat eating his ice cream, talking to everyone he knew, and a few he didn't know, but soon became friends...It was an honor to know him and his love of people. Rest in peace, Ray.
