Frances F. Jones 79, of Wilmington died Sunday, April 4,2010 at the Commons at Brightmore.

Frances was born on May 19, 1930 in Durham, NC the only child of the late Claude Marshall and Mary Whitaker Flowers. She was a graduate of the Sophie Newcomb Memorial College in New Orleans, LA, and made her home in Wilmington for the past 26 years. She was preceded in death by a son Shawn Jones.

Surviving are sons Bart Jones and wife Peggy of Wilmington, Byron Jones and fiancée Kelly Helton of Lenoir, Patrick Jones of Mooresville, and her grandchildren Sarah ,Robert and Ethan Jones.

Her request was to be cremated and friends remember her with a quiet prayer.

The family suggests memorials be made to an animal shelter of ones choice.
