Franklin David Clawson, 81, of Wilmington, NC passed away on December 17, 2015. Born March 25, 1934, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Sanders Clawson, and his mother, Sallie McDonald Clawson, and two brothers and four sisters.

Frank is survived by his children, Michael Clawson (Donna Arthur) of Greenville, NC; Marshall Clawson of Raleigh, NC; Mark Clawson of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Kimberly Weston (Brian) of Greenville, NC; Daniel Clawson (Suzie Turner) of Greenville, NC; Brooke, Grant, and Lauren Clawson of Detroit, MI; Mike Arthur of Wilmington, NC; great-granddaughter, Kenley Weston of Greenville, NC; sister-in-law, Nina Powell of Sarasota, FL; brother-in-law, Mel Lyons of El Paso, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and retired to Wilmington in 1994. He was an active member of Little Chapel on the Boardwalk Presbyterian Church.

A joint memorial service will be held for Frank and Shirley at Little Chapel on the Boardwalk Presbyterian Church 2 PM on Monday, December 21, 2015 with Pastor Pat Rabun officiating.

    I will always remember Uncle Frank as a big tease with a smile on his face. Then there was his famous line when we were kids, " you kids get outside!" What a fun time it always was with Uncle Fank and Aunt Shirley. God's peace and comfort as you remember the fun times.
