Franklin Noyes Stone, aged 37, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on November 9, 2023. He had his craft in his hand and his dog on his lap.
Franklin is survived by his Dog, Luke; Mother, Nonie Roberts; Sister, Jessica Zukowski and 3 Niblits; Brother, Michael Stone; Cousin, Jeannie Milholland and Son; Cousin, Susan Kline and Son; Extended Family of 30+; and more Friends and Coworkers than could possibly be listed. Franklin was preceded in death by Grandma and Pop; and Father, Dennis Stone.
Franklin was an avid adventurer; kayaking or biking every weekend. When he felt like staying close to home, he would take Luke to the local park and go paddle boarding on the lake. When he wasn’t outdoors, Franklin was making something, from small creatures or jewelry out of pipe cleaners, to knitting dishcloths, scarfs, shawls, socks, and hats; he loved to create things. Franklin was an incredibly proud nerd and scientist; his love and knowledge of Star Wars, technology, new EPA Test Methods, and birds knew no bounds. He was also an avid board gamer, always encouraging the family to sit around the table and play! Franklin was caring and fun loving, recognizing the things in life that brought him joy and sharing those things with all those around him. Franklin was intelligent and a patient teacher, especially when assisting his low-tech family with high tech problems. Franklin was thoughtful of others’ needs and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Franklin will forever be remembered for the strength of his hugs, the breadth of his heart, and the beauty of his soul.

Fun in the sun with family
Franklin was never far from an adventure! This was one of many kayaking trips. You could always count on Franklin to be prepared for any mishap and he always had enough food and supplies to share.
Our first kayaking trip to Sharks Tooth Island in the Cape Fear River. Franklin was amazed by all the fossils we found.
