GARY FRINK SIKES, JR. — Gary Frink Sikes, Jr., also known as “Champ”, of Wilmington, NC was born on September 28, 1977 and went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25th, 2020. Gary was born in Cheyenne, WY. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Deborah Saunders Sikes of Wilmington, NC. He is survived by his two devoted and adoring children, Catherine Louise Malone, (22), of Wilmington, NC and Gary Frink Sikes, III, (18), of Wilmington, NC. Gary is also survived by his strong willed, loving and devoted friend, his dad, Gary Frink Sikes, Sr. of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Amanda S. McCormick and her husband, Joseph B. McCormick and their son Tucker B. McCormick. His Brother, Jeffrey S. Sikes, Sr. and wife, Crystal C. Sikes and their children, Jeffrey S. Sikes, Jr., Kenneth White, Nathan White and Raegan M. Knowles. His youngest brother, Mason L. Sikes and his wife Elana M. Sikes, their children, Alex M. Sikes and Cody E. Sikes.

Gary Loved and lived his life to the fullest extent. He treasured his children and family more than anything. He was a terrific father to his children and loved them more than life itself. Gary had the heart of a saint, he would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need and always had a shoulder to lean on. He was kind-hearted, outgoing, lovingly stubborn, focused and determined in anything he did. He loved the beach, camping, drawing and sketching but most importantly spending time with his children and family. Being a hard worker was also very important to him. Gary made a positive impact to anyone that came into his life. He could light up any room that he walked in. He was always the funniest person around and could make you laugh and smile just when you needed it. He had a way with words. Gary was a caring, loving,
compassionate father, son, brother and uncle who was strong in his faith and was prepared to meet his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Gary will be deeply missed and another Angel has gained his wings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

    Dear Gary, You were are big brother hero who wore a fancy Superman cape, with a heart of gold that I hold so tight and dearly. When we were little you always held my hand, took up for me, let me tag along even if you really didn’t want to. If my balloon flew away, you let yours go so I wasn’t sad. I annoyed you but you still loved and protected me. You always had a joke to tell and a stomach hurting last go to spare! You, In my eyes were a true survivor which in turn taught me so much about life and for that I will always be grateful. We are truly blessed that our sibling relationship was unconditional no matter what, fun and full of love. We were taught family is everything. Looking at your smile reminds me to find strength through the pain. And the shared love and faith in God brings peace. You will always be with me big brother and I will talk to you daily.     Words cannot express my sincerest sorrow of Little Gary's passing. My heart breaks for the grief I know yall are feeling for your love one. He was always little Gary to us as he grew up with my children. It was a blessing that God lent him to us for the time he was here. Debbie's arms are around her baby as he went to be with God.
