    Kelly Humphrey Stanford says:
Uncle Gary, I have known you, of course, my entire life. I have several memories which spring to the front of my mind when your name is mentioned. I think one of the sweetest memories is the story shared with me by my mom, your sister -in-law. You were only 16 when my dad, your brother, met and then married. You invited my mom, sandy, to accompany you to your senior dance at school. What a precious memory. You two later established the "box of Whitman candy gift" every year NO MATTER WHAT! It wasn't christmas until that box of chocolates arrived! I remember you loving Alison Krause and Emmy Lou Harris and singing songs with your eyes closed because you were so into it. I remember the way you would laugh and your whole body shook and i remember how much you and my dad loved one another. You picked a great lady to marry and those kids are absolutely the best thing you ever did. I need to ask you for a couple of favors...please give daddy a big hug and kiss from me and tell him a good joke. Tell my sister, Bridget, that I miss her dearly and find my 1st grandson,Grayson, and on bended knee tell him we were proud to know him and that we love him. I know you were overwhelmed at the sight of God and I know it felt good to see your mom and dad. Love always, Kelly PS.
