Gaynelle Studer Joye, age 56, of Wilmington, passed away at home peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Gaynelle was born May 9, 1958 in Fayetteville, NC a daughter of the late Rudolph A. Studer and Sammie B. Studer.

Gaynelle graduated in 1976 from Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville and went on to obtain her Registered Nursing degree from Fayetteville Technical Institution in 1981.

She loved animals and was a member of the ASPCA. She enjoyed watching old movies, especially The Wizard of OZ, and her favorite actress, Lucille Ball, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, taking care of people and animals, and most of all simply being around her family and friends.

Gaynelle is survived by her sons Chris and Daniel of Wilmington, NC, her sister Cheri Powell of Columbia, SC, her brother Rudy Studer of Fayetteville, NC, and one soon to be born grandchild.

The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held from 6:00pm till 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A service to celebrate Gaynelle’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Wilmington Chapel.
