Ginger Genevieve Manning, born on March 12, 1936, in Houston, Texas, left this world on June 28, 2023, in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was surrounded by the love and admiration of her family and friends. Ginger lived a remarkable life, filled with warmth, kindness, and an unwavering zest for adventure.
Throughout her many years, Ginger had the incredible opportunity to travel the world, collecting memories and stories along the way. She believed that every person she encountered had a unique story to tell, and her genuine interest in others made her a beloved friend to all. Ginger had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel important and valued, leaving an everlasting impact on those fortunate enough to cross her path.
Ginger’s true joy in life came from her cherished relationships with her loved ones. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Erwin Lee Manning, and a loving mother to her children Vance Lee Manning and Nadine Gail Manning, her parents, Henry Dwight Morse, Jr. and her mother, Jean Mahavier Morse. Her memory will forever be treasured by her three grandchildren, Vance Lee Manning Jr., Shawna Gail McQuate, and Melissa Gail Manning, as well as her three great-grandchildren, Annie McQuate, Addison McQuate, and Cooper McQuate. Ginger’s presence in their lives brought immeasurable love and happiness.
A celebration of Ginger’s life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the Wilmington Funeral and Cremation Chapel. In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the American Breast Cancer Association. Ginger believed in supporting causes close to her heart and this organization truly embodies her caring spirit.
