Gloria Fox, age 85, of Leland NC passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 13th 2022.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years Ronald Fox, her sister Cissy and husband Furman Melton, her daughter Sheila and husband Rob Daughtry, her grandchildren Nikki and Jessica Gard, and her two great-grandchildren Jack and Quinn Jones.
She had an unparalleled work ethic and proudly worked her way to management over her 17 years working at the ABC store in Oak Island. Even after retiring, she quickly returned to the working world after finding that she truly could never just sit still.
Other than her family, two things Gloria loved in life were foxes and Elvis. One of the biggest fans you’d ever meet, Gloria could be described as a Hard Headed Woman, who did things Her Way, and she lived by the motto Taking Care of Business. She was truly someone you Can’t Help Falling in Love with.
Gloria was a woman like no other, and what many described as a firecracker. Her presence made any occasion better for it, and she never met a stranger. If you ever tried to compliment her by saying she looked younger than her age she would immediately shut it down saying she had earned and loved every year of her life.
If Gloria loved you, she loved you hard, and if she didn’t she’d at least compliment your shirt.
She will be deeply missed by her family, and the impact she had on the lives of others will forever be held dear.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Paws Place Rescue in Boiling Springs, where Gloria found her beloved Anna, the only dog she ever truly loved in her time here.
