Gloria Esther Cruz

Ms. Gloria Esther Cruz of Leland, NC was born on January 21, 1935, to the late Claudio Rivera and Juana Marrero in Puerto Rico, and passed away on March 12, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, completing her journey of 87 years.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from the hours of 11:00AM till 1:00PM, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories three sons, William Cruz of New York, Tony Cruz and wife Alexander of New Jersey, Carlos Cruz and wife Maria of New York, three daughters, Luz M. Cruz of New York, Evelyn Schechter and husband Larry of Leland, NC, Doris Hernandez of Texas; sister America Rivera, four brothers Angel Manuel Rivera, Heriberto Rivera, Enrique Rivera, Antonio Rivera, along with a host of relatives and friends.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter Carmin Rios, and two sisters, Ana, and Lucy, and son in-law Irving.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 1:00PM at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow the services at 11:00AM, Monday, March 21, 2022 in the Mount Ararat Cemetery: 1165 NY-109, Lindenhurst, NY 11757
