    Jason Gudasz says:
Ms Harper was my favorite neighbor I've ever had, such a pure and giving spirit. One time I had leaned my bike against the house of one of our other neighbors, and that neighbor came to my door and started yelling at me. As I went to move my bike, Gloria saw me getting yelled at and could tell the neighbor was being harsh on me. Next thing I know, I hear Gloria out in the street dressing down our neighbor and telling her to leave me alone (at one point Gloria yelled "You don't know me! You don't know me at ALL! But you WILL know me!"). Ever since then I loved Ms Harper, I would come by the porch here and there. Then I got a job working in the film industry in Los Angeles and had to leave town. We wrote eachother while I was in California, but life got the better of me and I eventually fell off writing. A few weeks ago I finally came back to Wilmington for the first time in 9 years and was ready to surprise Gloria at her door, and I was so sad to hear of her passing. I have nothing but love and gratitude that such an extraordinary person walked this earth and that I knew her for a brief time of it. Sending love and prayers to her family.
