Gloria “Glorie” Mae Pourcho, age 81, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with her three loving daughters by her side.

She was born in River Rouge, Michigan on July 5, 1933 the daughter of the late Mary Margaret Arnold Rasbury and Ellis Reynolds Rasbury. She grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan and graduated from the Henry Ford School of Nursing in Detroit, Michigan with honors then completed her Masters in Hospital Administration at Florida International University.

Gloria was a longtime resident of Wilmington and faithful member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse, was a devoted nurse and mother until her passing.

Her brother, Jack Ellis Rasbury, preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lynn (Gary Price), Melissa Ann and Julie-EIizabeth, all of Wilmington; grandson Patrick Mason Pourcho of Honolulu, Hawaii; her brother, Dr. Wiley Clay Rasbury (Mary Ann) of Grosse Ile , Michigan; and cousins, Roger Clay Rasbury (Kaye) and Leslie Rasbury of Venice, Florida.

A memorial service in celebration of Glorie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with a visitation to follow in Keever Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, 12 N. 6th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.

    I was saddened to see the notice of Gloria's death. I worked with her for many many years as a home health nurse. She was a very talented and intelligent registered nurse as well as a very compassionate and caring human being. She has touched the lives of many in her long life and now has her angel wings as reward. My condolences to her family and friends and may God bring you all peace.
