Gracie Tompkins Watson, age 65 of Leland passed away Monday, January 19, 2015.

She was born in Bladen County on November 21, 1949 to John Frank Tompkins and Myrtle Williams Tompkins.

She is survived by her husband David Smith; three sons, Donnie Carl Watson (Jane), Dennis Wayne Watson (Laurie), and Michael Douglas Watson; three grandchildren, Ashley Watson, Courtney Settlemeyer, and Jacob Watson; and one sister Cindy Creech.

Remembered is her husband, Douglas McArthur Watson; daughter, Angie Hodges; and granddaughter, Morgan Hodges who preceded her in death.

The family will see friends 6-8 Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Flynn Family Cemetery in Whiteville, NC.

    Donnie, Dennis, Michael, I'm so very sorry to here of your mothers passing. May god be with you and comfort you. Your mother was always so good to me. She was like a second mother to me when she would come spend summers with me and Daddy would take her with us to the mountains on vacation. I will truly miss her as you will.
