Grover Laurie Worthington,Jr., age 66, passed away on Sunday,November 8,2015 at his residence at Kure Beach after a brief illness.
Born on November 25,1948 in Kinston, NC, he was a son of the late Grover L. Worthington Sr. and Norma Grace Jarman.

Grover attended Grainger High School in Kinston,NC. For 25 years he was employed as service manager for James River Equipment Company. He enjoyed Fishing, Nascar racing and spending time with his family. Many special friends at Kure Beach became his family.

He is survived by his daughter Kym West of Jacksonville, NC, and son Trey Worthington and his wife Tammy of Whiteville, NC, and
his beloved companion, Nancy of Kure Beach. Also surviving are two brothers, Billy Worthington and wife Darlene of Kinston, NC, and
Tommy Worthington and wife Anne of Florence, SC. Three grandchildren, Tyler Worthington, Garrett Worthington, and Andrew West. One niece and two nephews also survive, and a special friend “NETMAN” Gene of Kure Beach. And a man’s best friend Maggie.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Wilmington Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dwight Martinez officiating.

A Celebration of Life gathering will follow the service at Grover’s home in Kure Beach.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401.
