Ms. Hallie M. Hollis Wilkins, 91 of Leland NC completed her Earthly journey March 14, 2022 after a brief illness at Lower Cape Fear Life Center. She was born to the late Archie & Cora Hollis of Leland, NC. In addition to her Parents, she was proceeded in death by her Husband of 27 years, Floyd Wilkins, three Brothers Tylon Hollis, Archie Hollis Jr, Frances “Patch” Hollis and one sister, Tillie Clark.

Hallie (or as she was affectionally called, Nanny) lived a life centered around Jesus Christ. He was the center of her home; Every decision or situation she encountered, she relied on Jesus. She never feared because she knew he was ALWAYS close by. She instilled these same values in her own two Daughters, who survive her, Janie Wilkins Thompson (Randy) of Leland, NC & Jennifer Wilkins Todd (Walter) of Manchester, TN.

Nanny was a life-long member of First Baptist Church Leland. She helped deliver the bricks to build the original Leland Baptist Church back in the 1940’s. She served Her Church in many capacities some of which included teaching Sunday School, teaching Vacation Bible School & working in the nursery. She Loved working with the children and always volunteered for an opportunity to teach them of Jesus. She loved her Church so much, she even took the task of cleaning it weekly with her best friend, Ms. Vivian Phelps for many years.

Outside of her Family, Nanny Loved her flowers & vegetable garden. Born with a green thumb she grew the most vibrant Azaleas, the prettiest Pansies and the best squash and cucumbers in three Counties. She spent countless hours in her garden and thrived on sharing the fruits of her labor with neighbors, friends & family. It was the highlight of every Spring & Summer.

Her Homegoing will leave a Void in the hearts of her 4 Grandchildren whom she Loved Dearly; Walter Todd Jr. (Gabby) Manchester, TN, Scott Todd (Melissa) Manchester, TN, Jill Treadway (Kevin) Leland, NC, and Wendy Hall (Billy Ray) of Leland, NC. Great Grandchildren, Tyler & Sara Treadway & Bodey & Olley Todd. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews & others that adopted Her as their “Nanny”.

A funeral service will be conducted at First Baptist Church of Leland on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00 o’clock with Rev Chris Hall & Rev Chris Todd officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
