Hardy Nelson Horne

Mr. Hardy Nelson Horne, of Wilmington, NC was born on February 26, 1949 in Rocky Point, NC to the late William Charles Horne and the late Rosa Millis Horne, and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 28, 2023, after a long illness completing his journey of 74 years.

Nelson proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam.

Nelson is survived by two sons, James Marshall Horne of Wilmington and Dennis Carl Horne (Siobhan) of Carolina Shores, the mother of his children, Frances B. Wray of Ash, NC. Three grandchildren, Kristin Delores Horne (Kirstin) of North Charleston, SC, James Michael Horne of Wilmington and Liam Horne of Carolina Shores, NC, Two brothers Charles Horne of Pink Hill, NC. Leroy Horne Sr. of Virginia. Two sisters, Carrie McDonough of Wilmington and Roseller Johnson of Ogden, NC. Three nieces, Debbie Hufhan (Kenneth), Betty A. Fernandez (Pat) both of Wilmington and Tracy Langston (Forrest) of Fayetteville, NC. Two nephews, Steven Horne of Raleigh, NC and Leroy Horne, Jr. and several other nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack McCoy Horne.

A time of Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from the hours of 12:00PM till 2:00PM at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A private family interment will be in the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
