Harold Gene Ellis

Harold Gene Ellis, age 77, of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Bolton, NC on September 6, 1941, the son of George Franklin Ellis and Lila Grace Peterson Ellis.

Harold retired as a Crane Oiler at the NC State Ports Authority.

Harold is survived by his children Alison Wilson and husband Johnny Wilson of Burgaw, Craig Ellis and wife Denise Ellis of Wilmington and grandchildren Cory and Zack Ellis.  He is also survived by his brother George Franklin Ellis, Jr. and his wife Linda Ellis.

Harold loved cars and street rods.  He was described as “such a cool guy” and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held Sunday, October 7, 3:00 PM at the Ellis-Peterson Cemetery  located behind Red Hill Church, accessed from Spearman Road in Byrdville, NC.
