Harry Hunt Blakeslee Sr. passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Harry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Betsy Farber Blakeslee; his four children Harry “Hal” Hunt Blakeslee Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Angela Stubbs and husband Matt of Annandale, VA, Alexandra Blakeslee Hartwell and husband Connor of Los Angeles, CA, Benjamin Blakeslee of New York, NY; and three grandchildren, Mitchell Stubbs, Elianna Stubbs, and Gramercy Grace Elizabeth Hartwell.

Harry was born on January 22, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Hobart Warren and Esthere Jonte Ogden Blakeslee. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hobart W. Blakeslee Jr.

Harry completed undergraduate studies at Davidson College and earned his MBA at Georgia State University. After proudly serving in the United States Army, Harry had a storied career as an executive in the retail and logistics industries, which brought him to Massachusetts. After over 30 years in New England, Harry and Betsy retired to coastal North Carolina. Harry dedicated his time in retirement to pursuing passions of sailing, golfing, reading, his church, and giving back to his community. His humbleness, charity, and passion for his family and causes of interest will be remembered by many.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Harry’s memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Pancreatic Cancer, Boston, Massachusetts.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
