Heather Ann Melville, 65, of Wilmington, formerly of Middletown, New York, passed away peacefully Tuesday August 11, 2009, and has gone to heaven to be with the love of her life Richie, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. In addition to her husband Richie she was preceded in death by her parents William and Elsie Hearne.
She is survived by her son who she lived for and adored, Craig Patrick Melville, granddaughter Kayla Marie Melville who lovingly referred to her as “Nana” both of Wilmington, sister Brenda Willis (Joe), brothers Rodney Hearne, Michael Hearne (Valerie), all of London England and a host of nieces and nephews.
Heather called everyone “luvvy”, enjoyed a good cup of tea, loved to bowl, and enjoyed putting her feet in the water at the beach in the evenings.
She had a deep commitment to her Catholic faith and family. Heather was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church and formerly a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Middletown, New York, where she will be inurned at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Zimmer Cancer Center for treating Heather with respect, kindness and patience during a very difficult time in her life.
Heather was loved by all who met her and will be sadly missed.
Memorial Mass will be 11:00am Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. Mark Catholic Church.
