Helen Louise Dukes Malpass 72, of Leland, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Friday April 20, 2012 at her home.

A very special mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend who had a geniune heart of true love for everyone. Always smiling and eagerly to give a gift to express her love and thoughtfullness. She truly enjoyed going to church at “Pine View Baptist Church” for many years, as well as fellowship at “Lighthouse Independent Baptist Church,” with her family.

She often enjoyed sewing and making quilts, listening to gospel music, watching TV, talking on the phone, planting flowers, and doing word-search puzzles.

She was born in Orangeburg, SC on May 27, 1939, the daughter of the late George Daniel and Mary Virginia Dukes. She was preceded by her husband, Archie Malpass Sr. on May 9, 2002.

Surviving are her loving family; her children; Betty and Linda Malpass, Buddy Malpass and wife Martha, Seven grandchildren Jennifer Osborne, Cynthia Rose, Cindy Evans, Sheila Malpass, Amanda Buff and Ashley Agin all of Leland, and Travis Shaw of Whiteville, NC. Five great-grandchildren; Joshua Simmons, Sylah Osborne, Madison Buff, Jaden Evans and Jake Agin. One loving sister, Betty Jean Ezzell of Watha, NC, and many caring nieces and nephews.

She will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. God has truely recieved a precious Angel.

Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will see friends from 6 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
