Helen took much joy in writing and sending cards. That was her ministry. She sent heartfelt messages to each and every person she wrote. It thrilled her when people thanked her for her special cards that meant so much to them, years after receiving them.

Helen worked in many fields throughout her life. She worked for a credit union, assistant to a hospital administrator, for the New Hanover County Register of Deeds office, legal secretary for a local attorney and for a local Real Estate Company in Carolina Beach where she retired at age 66.

The family would like to thank Dr. Howard Ruscetti and his Nurse Patty Kenney of Federal Point Medical Center in Carolina Beach. Special friends Diane Tucker, Nancy Huffer, Beth Bullard, Dena Bullard, Carolyn Crum, Sally Semmler, Barbara Wilson, Sue Hagen, and John and Debbie Stokley.

Helen was a special lady and dear friend. I enjoyed my visits with her and she always made me smile. She loved her daughter Debbie and family deeply. She contributed so much of herself to her church in so many ways and everyone looked forward to the beautifully written cards she would send. Helen fought a long hard battle with the love of her family and is now at rest. Sweet memories❤️

    Carolyn Crum says:
I loved Helen so much. She was a strong woman with a gentle, joyful spirit. She loved Jesus and she loved people. She was loving, kind, and witty. Her life was a demonstration of the scriptures in I Corinthians 13: “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not become angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices over the truth. Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always continues strong.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-7‬
