Henry Jerry Feenstra, Jr, 58, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Jerry, as he was known by his friends and family, was born December 6, 1954 in Wilmington to the late Henry Jerry Feenstra, Sr. and Audrey Waters Feenstra. He graduated from New Hanover High School in 1973. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and a lifelong resident of the Wrightsboro community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant sister, Tena Lee Feenstra; his paternal grandparents, Sipke and Anna Gras Feenstra; maternal grandparents, Frank and Doretha Carroll Waters.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marilyn J. Feenstra; his sister, Becky Feenstra of Boone, NC; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Castle Hayne Road, Wilmington, NC 28401. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be directed to Bethany
Presbyterian Church.

    Dearest Marilyn, We are so sorry for your loss, and for the fact that we never got to meet you. David and Jerry were very close friends in High School, and for years after. Once we moved to Carolina Beach in 1983, we lost a lot of contact with him. Please know that we both have such fond memories of our times shared with Jerry, David especially. He was a genuine and gentle man, and we will miss his amazing smile. May our dear heavenly Father grant Jerry's soul rest, and may you and your family members find peace in God's loving arms.
