Mr. Henry M. Charlesworth, of Wilmington, NC, died on August 2, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, completing his journey of 72 years.

Henry served faithfully in the Air Force, he was committed to his country and had a heart to serve. In Henry’s spare time he enjoyed watching sports, and he was a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers. Henry would never let the family forget a birthday, or a date that needed to be remembered. Henry loved his family, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He truly will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories one daughter: Melissa Lovitt (Raeford); one son: Brian Charlesworth (Stephanie); three grandchildren: Baily Charlesworth; Blake Bigham; Blair Bigham; two sisters: Cathy Magnano (Bob); Sue Hargett (Freddie); as well a several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Henry and Helen Charlesworth.

A graveside service will be held on 2:00PM, Monday, August 23, 2021, at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery, with military honors to be rendered.

    Went to school with Buddy at Lejeune and really enjoyed knowing him, and watching him play football. He had a wonderful attitude about life and I knew he would leave his mark on this world. RIP dear Buddy and Thank You for your service.
