Henry Pickett age 70, of Leland NC, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Rocky Point NC, on Dec. 12, 1949, the son of Bill Pickett Sr. and Naomi Pickett. He spent all of his life here in North Carolina, never venturing far from his hometown and family.

He retired from Martin-Marrietta after 25 yrs of good service working as a stone crusher at the Castle Hayne rock quarry.

Henry was well loved by all family and many friends he came in contact with during his life. He especially loved animals, especially dogs, his precious “Pootie” a solid black Chihuahua mix that was by his side for the last 15 yrs of his life. Unfortunately, Pootie passed away a few months prior. Aside from his family, Henry loved working outdoors, working in his yard, always planting flowers and tending to his property and garden. Henry also loved the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, as you could always tell by the great pride he took in decorating his house with lights and ornaments for the holidays.

Henry had a special relationship with his only child, his daughter Lisa Prince, along with his only grandson, Anthony Prince, as he always had many pictures displayed at home and usually on him to show. You could tell that was always the highlight of his conversations, As his daughter, Lisa, and grandson, Anthony, met the world to him and he was very proud of them.

Henry is survived by his daughter Lisa Prince, her husband Mark Anthony Prince and their son, his one grandson, Anthony Prince. He is also survived by his brothers, “Doc” Pickett, Bill Pickett Jr., Donny Pickett, and Joe Pickett, along with three sisters, Nelle-Ann Pickett, Linda Blake, and Brenda Flynn.

Henry was predeceased by his wife Clementine Pickett, and his youngest Brother Robert Earl Pickett.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday September 9, 2020 from 6 PM to 8 PM with memorial service at 8 PM at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S. 41st Street Wilmington, NC 28403.
