Hilda Leatrice Newman

Hilda Leatrice Rabon Newman born May 6, 1928, passed away Monday night June 1, 2009 of natural causes.

Hilda was born and raised in Chadbourn, NC and settled in Wilmington, NC over 50 years ago.
Hilda was very active in the community volunteering at New Hanover Regional Hospital and was also a cherished member of Long Leaf Baptist Church. Hilda is known for her strong will and vivacious outlook on life.

Hilda is survived by her adoring husband of 60 years Everette Newman, two loving sons Everette Newman, II and wife Nancy, and Ronnie Newman, three loving grandchildren Megan Newman, Tristan Newman and Logan Newman, three sisters Mary Elizabeth Mayes, Brenda Brand, and Billie Anne Lane.

Hilda will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Long Leaf Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 10:30 until the service time. The Pastor Eugene Ridley will officiate. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Long Leaf Baptist Church.
