Hillery Armstrong, Jr., 72 of Burgaw passed away December 21, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hillery Armstrong, Sr and Elizabeth Meredith Armstrong, brother Deames Armstrong , sisters Katie Tarry and Dorothy Smith.

Hillery is survived by his wife of 43 years Hattie Armstrong of the home, 5 children Kelvin Allen (Angie) of Charlotte , Melissa Walds (Matthew) of Burgaw, Hillery Armstrong, III of Wilmington, Patrina Ruffin of Burgaw, Kirstie Stokes of Burgaw, 10 grandchildren Nakita Stevens (Derreck) of Richmond, VA, Matthew Allen of Georgia, Alisha Allen and Micah Allen both of Wilmington, Kendra Stokes, Carrington Ruffin and Jessica Ruffin of Burgaw, Jadison and Amya Allen of Charlotte, Jordyn Armstrong of Wilmington, sisters Mary Mercy (Willie) and Carolyn Hankins, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 26, 2009 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, in Burgaw.
