Ida “Boogie” Higgins Bender, 65, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Monday, December 5, 2012 at her home.

She grew in the Seabreeze community of New Hanover County.
She is survived by one daughter, Paula Mitchell Newrells of Texas, two grandchildren, Shannon Mitchell and Darrean Scott; one great granddaughter, Shania Mitchell; many cousins and friends.

At her request, no memorial services are planned.
