Edith “Iris” (Sheppard) Mallard, 89, passed away October 3, 2018. She was preceded in death by two sons, Travis Mallard and Stephen Charles Mallard; and a grandson Wayne Decker.

She is survived by her son David Mallard; and three daughters: Dawn Galloway (Kelly), Dee Hill (Tony) and Ruth Decker (Danny); grandchildren: Michelle, Justin, Evie, Joey, Emily, Ashley, Cassie, and Lindsey; nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving, are her sister Peggy Hodges; brothers: Reid Sheppard, Bill Sheppard and Jay Sheppard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She leaves behind a rich legacy of her love of God and her family. She will be most remembered for being a mighty prayer warrior until the very end of her life. We were all blessed with her unconditional love and care.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 6:00 PM with family greeting friends and relatives beginning at 5:00 PM at Brookfield Church of God 131 Elliott Drive Wilmington NC.  The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Andrews.

    My condolences on you and the families loss. God cares about one's that are brokenhearted and crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18) God would never take a dear loved one away from their family and friends to be with him in heaven instead will God by means of the Kingdom in the Lord's Prayer will bring the dear loved one back to life here on earth to live forever. (Psalm 115:16; Matthew 6:9,10; Acts 24:15; Psalm 37:11,29) God's Kingdom will also get rid of wars, any harm, death, sickness, blindness, deafness and homelessness to name a few. (Isaiah 2:4; 11:9; Revelation 21:3-5; Isaiah 25:8; 33:24; 35:5,6; 65:21) God is the God of comfort.
