James “JD” Dover Colvin, Sr, 94, of Wilmington passed away Monday December 10, 2007 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.

Born in Wilmington January 29, 1913 the son of the late James Tate Colvin and Dover Anna Bryan Colvin.

JD was preceded in death by his wife Tessie Rea Colvin, Brother Franklin Colvin and Sister Hilda Colvin.

He is survived by his sons J D Colvin, Jr and wife Martha, of Wilmington, Larry S. Colvin and wife Judy, of Wilmington, Robert C. Colvin and wife Suzanne, of Montpelier, VA and Danny R. Colvin and wife Lisa, of Wilmington, sister Sarah Rackley, of Fayetteville, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren , many nieces and nephews.

JD retired from Babcock & Wilcox and was a charter member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder Emeritus.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M Thursday, December 13, 2007, Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Harold Manning Officiating.

The family will see friends 6:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M Wednesday at Wilmington Burial and Cremation.
