Jackie had unmatched energy that made people smile. I’m so thankful to have known the Vruels family during our time in Sendai, Japan. Her smile and laugh and love of spontaneous life will always be remembered. Love and prayers to Jon and the kids.

Wow, looks like Jackie had more in common with me than I ever knew! I too lived in the Virgin Islands for 4 years on the island of St Thomas.....and also dod basic and advanced SCUBA cerifation and was a dive master for a time in my spare time when not teaching elementary school there in the public schools. Small world! Again, may God bless all of you during this difficult time. ☮️❤️

    Marcelo Anselmo says:
It was already sun-down when we landed in St.Thomas VI- Jackie picked us up and took us directly to the ocean to go lobster hunting, naturally. She brought flashlights and snorkels- the essential stuff- and we proceeded to catch dinner- well, she did really. She was the only one brave enough to shove her hand in the dark holes in the rocks below looking for that elusive crustacean. That’s the girl I will always remember- spirited and true.
