Jacqueline Barnes Hickman of Wilmington passed away on Thursday June 21, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter.

Jackie was born in Southhampton County, Virginia on December 8, 1933 to Claudie Thomas  Barnes and Inez Pope Barnes.

Jackie was a communicant at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wilmington. She was a graduate of Wake Forest College and retired from New Hanover County Schools. She was a member of AREME Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Wilmington.

She is survived by her husband Frank George Hickman; one son Wilton Barnes Hickman and wife Dorothy of Boykins, VA; two daughters, Teresa Hickman Howlett and husband Duane of Wilmington,  and Evelyn Joyce “Joye” Hickman and husband Randy of Raleigh;  two grandsons, Craig Hickman of Burgaw and Christopher O’Neill of Wilmington; two great grandchildren Doug and Drew Hickman. Three grand-dogs “Max”, “Romeo”, and “Casanova”.

Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 4 pm Sunday June 24, 2018 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. The family will see friends starting at 3 pm until the service time.
