Jacqueline Jean Phelps, age 88 of Rocky Point, NC and formerly of Chicago passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Chicago on  February 19, 1929 to Clarence and Jean Johnson. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Phelps. She was a mother of four and was proud to have served as a Police and Hospital Chaplain.

She is survived by her children, Allen Jeffrey Phelps of Rocky Point; Donald Phelps, Jr. of Lyle, IL; Barbara Wagner of St. Louis, MO; and Cathy Thompson of St. Charles, MO; and number of grandchildren.

No local services are planned. Her urn will be placed with her husband at a later date

    Jackie was such a vital part of our neighborhood community, from holding babies and giving advice at the weekly breakfasts at Grandma Sally's, to helping with the neighborhood block party. Jackie lived life to the fullest, and did it with that huge smile of hers.
