James Alexander Benton


James Alexander Benton, 59, of Watha, NC and formerly of Wilmington, NC, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at his home in Watha.

Born June 10, 1949, Mr. Benton was the son of James Clifford Benton and Mrs. Lula Mae Parker Benton. He was an asbestos removal technician.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Morgan Benton; one son, David Morgan, both of the home; two daughters, Leslie Shaw and husband Frank of Colorado and Jenifer Woods and husband Mike of California; one sister, Pat Hutton of Wilmington; 6 grandchildren. Mr. Benton was preceded n death by a sister, Denise.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Saturday at the Brookfield Church of God located at 131 Elliott Drive, Wilmington, NC 28405. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services.
